The Education Operating Committee provides leadership, direction, and strategy development in connection with PLT and other educational programs of the American Forest Foundation. The committee develops opportunities to further understanding about natural resource management and complex environmental issues among youth and their families – working with educators, resource management professionals, youth leaders, citizen conservationists, and others in cooperative projects.
Specifically, the committee:
- Recommends overall goals and policies for PLT and other educational programs
- Develops annual operating plans and budgets for approval by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees
- Assists in fundraising activities
- Participates in or assists with PLT’s programs and activities as appropriate
- Initiates strategic planning for PLT and other AFF education programs
